Carol Nancy D'Ordine

Carol Nancy D’Ordine passed away peacefully on Monday May 16, 2022. Carol was born on September 11, 1938 in Providence, Rhode Island to Carlo and Ida Marcello. She had two siblings, her sister Norma (Todd) and brother Richard. In 1957 she graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in Providence. Carol knew her husband Joseph from the neighborhood. They dated in high school and married on June 6, 1959 at St. Anne’s Church in Rhode Island. Carol and Joseph welcomed their first baby, David, in 1960. They decided to move to California and settled in the city of Anaheim. They had their second baby, Lisa (Lemus), in 1965. 

Carol worked part time as a cashier at night and on weekends at Standard Brands Paint Store in Anaheim. She cared for her children during the day while Joseph was at work. She retired from the company after 30 years of service. Carol enjoyed watching movies along with baseball and football games. She also participated in a bowling league. Carol spent her free time reading books, playing cards, singing with the family, and attending bingo. Carol was artistic, and she once whittled chess pieces from balsa wood. She was very handy fixing things around the house. Carol was a member of the Son’s of Italy where she held several positions through the years. She made lifelong friendships there and continued to be active in the club’s events. Carol loved the extended family she gained from her children’s spouses Valerie and Raul. She enjoyed spending time with them at parties and on holidays. 

In 1998 Carol and Joseph became grandparents for the first time to Raul Lemus. Then they were blessed with two more granddaughters, Alicia D’Ordine in 2000 and Francesca Lemus in 2001. Carol was very proud and devoted to her grandchildren. She supported all three of them by attending their sporting events, piano recitals, choir concerts, and musicals. Carol was a loving, calm, easy going person. She will be missed and cherished forever by her family and friends. Carol is survived by her husband Joseph D’Ordine, son David D’Ordine his wife Valerie, daughter Lisa Lemus her husband Raul, three grandchildren Alicia D’Ordine, Raul Lemus, Francesca Lemus, and her sister Norma Todd.
