Helen Ruth Crystal

On October 3, 2020, Helen Ruth Crystal passed away peacefully with family at her side at age 84 after a brief illness. She was born May 4, 1936 in Fort Gay, West Virginia to Audley and Pansy Boyes. She married her love, Raymond Crystal, in September of 1954, who preceded her in death in 1986.

A loving mother and homemaker, Helen’s passion was caring for her family. She was a dedicated wife, proud mother of six children, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother and devoted her life to raising her family.

Helen was very talented and artistic. She loved to sew clothes for her children and for many years leading up to her passing, she enjoyed cross-stitching, quilting, knitting, and crocheting. She also had a flair for baking and was a dedicated fan of the Angel’s baseball team.

Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Psalm 23 - The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Helen is survived by her five daughters and their husbands, Deborah Favale, Sheri and Michael Griffith, Diana and Tim Kolec, Karen and David Fetchen, Cynthia and Charles Flynn, eight grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. Her son, Dennis Crystal, preceded her in death in 1993. All of these she loved and touched deeply. She will live on in our hearts.

A funeral will be held to celebrate her life on October 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Church, 17270 Ward Street, Fountain Valley, CA 92708 followed by an interment at Good Shepherd Cemetery, 8301 Talbert Ave. Huntington Beach, CA 92646
