Joan Marie Kulik

Joan Marie (Cerasani) Kulik, 81, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022, next to her loving husband of 60 years, Gerald. Joan was born in Chicago on August 4, 1940, married on February 10, 1962, and then moved to Fountain Valley with her growing family in 1969. With her Master of Theology degree, she dedicated many years to volunteering and working in education, first at Holy Spirit Catholic Church and then as Head of the Catechetical Institute of Religious Education for the Diocese of Orange. An embodiment of charitableness, she was outspoken in her support and defense of those in need. In retirement, Joan enjoyed being a docent at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, gardening, scrapbooking, quilting, and traveling.

She leaves behind a wealth of family and friends in California and the Chicago area, including her brother James Cerasani and sister-in-law Eileen (Crosby). Joan’s four children, David, Laura Kleinmeyer, Daniel, and Jeffrey, blessed her with eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. All will remember the big family vacations she and Gerald planned and perfected as well as the fun and laughter at many family gatherings. She will be greatly missed.

A funeral Mass celebrated by family friend Fr. Richard Delahunty will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 17270 Ward St. Fountain Valley CA, 92708 on Friday, July 1 at 10:30 am and Committal at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 7845 E. Santiago Canyon Rd. Orange CA, 92869. Viewing will be at Heritage-Dilday Memorial Services at 17911 Beach Blvd, Huntington Beach, CA 92647.
