Linda A. Wood

September 26, 1956 ~ November 4, 2021 (age 65) 65 Years Old

Tribute

Linda Ann Averill-Wood was among many things; a nurturing, loving, and supportive wife. She was also a mother, sister, grandma (Yaya), and best friend to many. She was a strong inspiring woman of faith with a humble, beautiful, self-less spirit. Her presence truly was a graceful gift from Our Father in Heaven and will remain in all our hearts forever.

Our beautiful mother was born on September 26,1956 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the fourth oldest out of five children. She became a homemaker at a youthful age and made it work with whatever challenges which she faced. She became a master of making sugar toast and butter-parmesan cheese pasta a loving gourmet meal. Throughout her life she made every house a warm, loving home where her happy place was in the kitchen whipping up many of the Nicholas’ Greek recipes and adding her special twists to her dishes. Linda was a shining light to every person that was close to her. She was a master "beet canner," who simply made everyone around her want to be better human beings. She loved her family deeply, including all her dogs. Linda Ann was a no-nonsense businesswoman to the very end. She was a correctional deputy at the age of 40, but a homemaker in every sense of the word and always kept busy providing a spark for everyone she encountered using her supermodel smile and always warming every heart around her within a 25-foot radius. She had many passions; motorhome living, travelling, the beach, long Harley rides, cooking and most importantly family time. She loved being a mother and loved being a grandma even more. She had a sparkling spirit that commanded attention and respect instantly and effortlessly. Rest in peace Momma Averill-Wood, your spirit and legacy will live on in your family until we are re-united in your kitchen in heaven.
