His early years of education were at St. Joseph elementary and secondary schools in Windsor Ontario. He completed his medical studies at the University of Ottawa, graduating in 1955.  He went on to pursue a specialization in Anesthesiology.  Philip practised anesthesiology for over thirty years.   In his early years, he practised in Windsor, Ont. then Detroit and from there he went out to California ;namely, Huntington Beach where he soon became associated with Pacifica Hospital in HB,where he eventually assumed the position of Head of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Morgan was predeceased by his brother William (Flt Sgt. RCAF WWII), and his sisters Eileen (William) Delicate, Anna (Ray) Sharkey, and his other brothers Bruno and Jack (Cinci) and his nephew, William (Billy) Delicate.

He is survived by his sister Maryon (Marcus) MacRae formerly of Lakeland, Florida and his brother Robert of Vancouver, BC and his brother-in-law Larry Bauer of Vancouver, BC.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Anna's children; Shayne (Mike) Sivilotti, Sharman (Chris) Bondy, Shirlee (Pepi) Sharkey and Shawn Sharkey; Bruno's children: Deborah (Ed) Morgan. On many of these trips, he attended Classical Jazz Festivals: Sacramento. Mammoth Lake, Pismo Beach, and San Diego.  In his latter years, Philip took up bicycling. He particularly enjoyed bicycling from his home in Huntington Harbour, journeying along the bikeway from Sunset Beach to the pier of Huntington Beach. While on this journey he would say the Memorare for himself and members of his family.

In recognition of the dedicated work of his nursing and anesthesiology colleagues, Philip each year would have a party at his home, usually held during the Huntington Beach Christmas Boat Parade which occurred in  early December. All in attendance really enjoyed this celebratory occasion.

Philip was a devout Catholic. He was a supporter of many causes at St Bonaventure parish. He was also supportive financially of many religious orders and other Catholic Charities. Philip loved all the members of his family, showing in particular a great love for his mother and father. He  lovingly cared for his mother in her latter years at his home. He was a kind, thoughtful and giving person. His generosity was without bounds for all members of his family. He will be sorely missed by his many family and friends.
